Life, Holidays, Self-Care & Giving
Why am I talking about lemons? Well, because it’s something that everyone can relate too and, if you’re human, we all have days where it feels like nothing but sour lemons are being tossed in our way.
And in the last couple of weeks, I’ve definitely have had some lemons to deal with so, I took some time off of social media to take care of the lemons. And , despite the drawbacks the lemons caused, I managed to find a way to make something sweet.
Just like everyone else, I have my good days and my bad days because life happens. Burnout and exhaustion are a real thing which is why self care is important.
Self care is so important.
Especially this time of year. With the holidays upon us, thinking about the new year, trying to finish up this year, shopping and planning get togethers with friends and family can make life a little stressful and cause you to burnout. So, taking time to take care of yourself is extremely important.
Taking time to just relax, read, mediate, light a candle and just breathe. Or, if you’re not into that, going for a walk works too.
The point is to find something that works for you that is your definition of self care and apply it to your daily routine. No, Im not an expert at this, it’s just my way of giving back by hoping that you’re encouraged to take care of yourself.
Why do I think self-care is so important?
Because if I don’t take time to take care of myself, it affects my productivity, my performance, and most importantly, I can’t do my job which is to tell my clients story through the images I produce during a photo session. Basically, I burnout and I can’t be there for my clients and that’s not cool.
Did you know you can give self care to others?
This week was a particularly challenging one and one of my clients and friend gave me the best gift to use for self care and relaxation. It really made my day. It was like she knew that I was going through a tough time and needed a reminder of self-care.
So as you’re shopping, getting ready for holiday parties, dinners, working and just living life in general, remember to take time for self care for yourself and share the gift of self care to someone who may need it as well because you never know how it may make there day.
