When I was a little girl, I was shy, skinny, awkward and I didn’t like being the center of attention and having my photo taken was the last thing I wanted to do. And this photo is a perfect example of that.

I remember this photo like it was taken yesterday.
“ Stand right there Laeti ( Let-Tah ) and smile”. O.K., I said. And then, I immediately closed my eyes!
Yep, that was how I felt about having my picture taken taken.
My Grandfather took this photo. He LOVED to take pictures. And he especially liked taking photos of me. Every chance he got, he was taking photos. He is the inspiration behind me falling in love with photography and he also gave me my very first camera.

That’s what it’s all about!
Photography captures a moment in time. It creates a record in history and is time stamped by the image.
In my opinion, there is no greater way to record a time than with photographs. Yes, we have paintings and drawings and I am not saying that these works of art do not record history because, they do however, a photograph is something that was invented by accident and now, it is the most used record of recording history today.
I know it’s hard to think about right now but just think, a hundred years from now, your image will be a part of history! Isn’t that crazy to think about?

That’s why I feel that it’s so important to record these special moments , not only for yourself but for generations to come.
I had so much fun with these two. Watching the laughter, love and joy of a couple in love is just as much fun as photographing them.

We’re so used to seeing photos these days. They’re EVERYWHERE! Social Media, magazines, billboards but often, we don’t think about how important a photograph is as a record of time. Just think about when you walk into someone’s home, or even your own, that photographs really do tell a story. We surround ourselves with pictures of family, friends, memories of your wedding day. Or that one time you had family photo session and the photographer asked you for just a couple more photos of the two of you and, that one photo brings you joy or makes you laugh EVERY TIME YOU SEE IT IN THE HALLWAY OF YOUR HOME!
That’s why I feel that it’s so important to record these special moments , not only for yourself but for future generations .
