Why give during this time of year?
Tis the Season to give!
We all have our own unique ways of giving, whether it's through our time, money, advice, or simply showing love and support. But during the holiday season, giving takes on an even greater importance.
Why?
Because while some of us are fortunate to have a warm place to stay, clothing on our backs, food on the table, and loved ones surrounding us, there are others who aren't as fortunate. And that's where our giving becomes truly meaningful.
“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give”
Amidst the joyful holiday commercials, decorated Christmas trees, and the excitement of gift-giving, we mustn't forget those who are lonely, without a home, or without the means to celebrate.
It breaks my heart to think about children who won't have anything to open on Christmas Day.
They’re so many different ways to give!
I personally support Toys for Tots, a wonderful initiative by the Salvation Army. I've been contributing toys and books for over 21 years, ensuring that at least one child will have the joy of unwrapping a gift on Christmas morning. And let me tell you, it's a feeling like no other.

Now, I'm not here to boast or seek recognition, but rather to inspire you to join in the spirit of giving. I firmly believe that we can all make a difference, regardless of our financial situation. Start small, like buying toys or books throughout the year, so that when the holiday season arrives, you'll have something special to contribute.
And here's a personal reason why I give: I know what it feels like to have nothing to open on Christmas Day. At one point in my life, when I was a kid, my single mom ( after my parents had separated ) couldn't afford to buy me gifts, but thanks to the Toys for Tots program, I still had something special to open.
The fact that Toy’s for Tot’s makes sure to give toys and books every year to families in need touched my heart, and so, for over 20 years now, I’ve collected toys and books to give to the organization. I know I can’t give to every single child however, it warms my heart to know that I helped at least one child have a something to open in Christmas Day!
So, my dear friends, I hope this story encourages you to give during this season of love and kindness. Together, let's make a difference, one act of kindness at a time.
